Fresh Apple-Cinnamon Oatmeal

This is my favorite way to eat oatmeal. I know it seems really simple, and it is,
but I thought I'd share it with you anyway!

Start with 1 cup prepared oatmeal. I think the key to having a good texture is cooking it on the stove top. I'm not a fan of microwaved oatmeal.

Add 2 TB brown sugar.

Add 1 TB soft butter. My favorite is Brummel & Brown, I've been using it for a few years now.

Add 2 TB fat free half and half. You could use milk, too. I just like the creaminess you get from the half and half.

Add some peeled, chopped apple. I use about 1/2 an apple in the oatmeal, and eat the other half plain.

Sprinkle generously with cinnamon. I used about 1/4 tsp cinnamon here. Saigon cinnamon is the best; find some, take a whiff of it, and you'll never go back!

Stir it up, and enjoy it.

  1. Titus LOVES oatmeal! I've added applesauce before but never fresh apple..great idea! Definitely think he would like this way better - don't know why I've never thought to do it! :)
