I kept seeing shaped bokeh on Pinterest, and for the longest time, I would look at those photos and think they were too far out of my reach. I really wanted to try it though, just because when something seems impossible, I just have to prove it's not. Sometimes the outcome is good, sometimes it's not good!
I was brainstorming on my photos for this week, and thought it would be the perfect time to try this out.
So, I found a tutorial, and it took all of 5 minutes to make this little customized lens hood, and I was on my merry way to shooting lovely bokeh...all day and night. I was beside myself with excitement.
Of course, you can also get this lovely bokeh with something in focus as well, but since our theme this week is out of focus, I didn't go that route here. Although, I will be playing around with that in the near future.
Anything that has a glare to it, will produce this bokeh. I used bubbles in the sunlight, and my husband was the bubble-blower. He's so sweet. I only had two shapes I was working with, but if you've ever seen all those little shaped paper punchers in the scrapbook aisle, you know your possibilities here are endless.
Please stop by Tiffani's site at Calculating Exposure Photography,
and enjoy her take on our theme this week!
