Here it is - week one of the 52 Fridays challenge! I really didn't think the self portrait would be that big of a deal, boy was I wrong. We really are our worst critics.
Well, maybe not, I can think of a few people that....oh, nevermind.
This took a lot of work, and a lot of this:
I finally ended up with this. It was getting dark, and hey, I was hungry.
So, here it is, the. self. portrait.
Leslie is one of my partners in crime for the 52 Fridays challenge; so head over to her blog and take a peek at her self portrait.

I LOVE LOVE the one with the remote!!! Way to think out of the box! :) -Jodie
ReplyDeleteI'm with Jodie- the remote shot is GREAT! I had the hardest time trying to hide my remote. Looks like I should have just celebrated it like you!
ReplyDeleteI love both! I want to do a silhouette SP - great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThese are so fun! I can't believe how perfect the focus is on the remote!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I love it! This was definitely harder to do than I thought it would be, but I love how yours turned out. So much fun!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I love the silhouette.
ReplyDeleteSarah, you really made me smile. How much fun these pictures are!!! love that you just have fun with the assignment. And you were sneaky hiding you face!!! ;-) I love the first shot. I think is the best representation of the meaning of "self portrait": The remote control!!!!! you did great focusing on it and blurring the rest... or use some PP? tell us your secrets!!! ;-) WTG!
ReplyDeleteLove the bokeh and the silhouette!
ReplyDeleteThese made me smile!Who knew a selfie was going to be so hard!? It was so much harder than I expected. Love your take on the theme, and your honesty!
ReplyDeleteActually, there was minimal pp on the remote selfie. I was getting pretty frustrated with the whole thing, and my remote was not firing properly unless it was right in front of the lens! Hello?? What good is that? lol Another little confession is that I shot this in portrait mode. However, it was taken with my new 50 1.4 that I got for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteAs far as pp goes, I opened it up in photoshop and ran Florabella's classic color on it, and that was it.
